even before it started I commented that if Westlife was in it they'd win and sure enough.....! Who do people think should really have won?

Out of the ten that were shown, Gorillaz - I liked the stage show as well as the song. Can't believe that Black Eyed Peas song was even there, but saying that, most of the songs were naff. Why do the regional people have to make some stupid comment each time rather than just say who scored what, eg. Daniel Powter isn't having a bad day as he's in 3rd place etc. How original... not!

I knew Westlife would win, same old same old.

Would have liked to see Gorillaz win it or Gwen Stefani.

Black eyed peas were embarassing.

i,m not really into westife, probably too old lol, but they deserved to win the title because raise me is up is the most beautiful song i heard for a long time.
..gorillaz...
How Lemar never won is a mystery to me. The best soul singer this country has had for years.

I think westlife are crap it's the same old stuff.

I would have like to see it go to someone like robbie williams his songs are alway original.

The garillaz r cool

these contests are always slanted because you can only vote for those songs nominated, notwithstanding the "best" song of the year wasn't included.

of the nominees this year, the gorillaz were the best, undoubtedly.

You raise me up is an old song done 10 times better imho by brian kennedy...

The truth is record of the year year in year out is a complete joke, i lost interest in it a couple of years back when beyonce's excellent crazy in love was beaten by westlifes barry manilow cover mandy..too hilarious for words.

Gorillaz should have won, sorry not aware of the full list but i'm told the Kaiser chiefs, the killers, green day, the arctic monkeys nowhere to be seen...predictable.

I haven't heard the Brian Kennedy/Josh Groban versions of You Raise Me Up, but I'd hazard a guess they weren't such blatant third rate Wind Beneath My Wings rip-offs as Wetsh1te's version. Brian Kennedy in particular has a voice which can express more emotion in a single note than the bland ballad-stranglers have managed in their entire career.
