Can you remember your Mum or Dads favourite bit of music or song ?
Or what song/ music reminds you of them?
Ken Dodd and Tears always reminds me when she was making the Sunday dinner and mixing the Yorkshires while listening tho Family Favourites on the radio

I can only ever remember my mother buying one record. It was this one:
Mum loved this.

Frank Ifield, I remember you.
This always makes me think of my father ;-)
Whereas my sister always had the radio on playing Perry Como and Dean Martin, and my brother introduced me to classical music, I have no memory of my parents having any favourites.
My Mammy, Al jolson.

Goodbye. sung by Josef Locke. That's one of my old favourites - very stirring. My mum's favourite was Blow the Wind Southerly sung by Kathleen Ferrier (she of the deep voice which I wasn't keen on).

Is it on YouTube? Bet that would be worth watching. :-) x
When we were growing up in the 60's our Mum loved all the same music that we did e.g The Beatles, Kinks etc. She used to write down the Top 20 from the radio for us every Tuesday (I think) when we were at school
