One of the discs chosen by Nick Webborn to take to his desert island was "You'll Never Walk Alone" by Gerry and the Pacemakers. I didn't recognise it as the hit I remembered. I checked the BBC website and saw that the track had come from the 20th Anniversary Album (of G&TP). Could one of the ABers identify the recording used on the album and tell me if it was another version recorded at the same time as the hit version or a re-recording at some later date? (It wasn't quite as good as the original, imo.)Thanks.

The 20th Anniversary Album was recorded in 1982 with re-workings of their previous hits.

The 'original' was of course from the 1945 musical Carousel but you can listen to G&TP 1963 version and the 20th Anniversary version on Spotify
