Currently Listening And Ironing ( Multitasking) To Boom Radio
Very interesting they are playing the last top 40 of Radio London broadcast ( I think) from Radio Caroline Circa 1967.
What utter bully’s the BBC were back then ( maybe still are ), I see also they’ve brought DLT back from the Wilderness , my era and I love it

AH, bobbi has said this discussion is spoiling her thread and because of that I've declared myself 'out'. If you want to discuss it further, as a courtesy to her, I suggest you do it elsewhere.

Your choice to opt out, and your reasons for doing so, are entirely your own, freely exercised, in the spirit of free speech.
I am sure you would wish to extend identical freedoms to everyone else, who may wish to continue following the thread in the direction it has taken, or indeed alter that direction as they choose.

Actually, it's not 'her thread'.
Starting a thread does not confer rights of ownership, nor does it entitle the originator, or indeed anyone else, the right to direct its exchanges, or imply that others should follow the agenda dictated by the originator.
That is not how debate, or this site, operate.

Bobbi - // It’s another much smaller Sky box that goes to the bedroom tv so you are able to receive all the Sky channels we pay for Tiggs //
From your willingness to depart from what you complained was a 'feel-good' thread subject, into other completely unrelated areas, mean that you accept my point that threads go where they go, without the control of anyone?

Bobbi - //Just asked Alexa to play Boom radio now //
My wife and I had a three-hour car journey yesterday to come and stay with her sister, and we listened to Boom on the way.
Quite rightly they made much of their rapidly expanding audience, and their jingles subtly enforce the message, with themes of 'Music for your generation ... '
As I have pointed out previously - if you play records people want to hear, and have them played by people that people like to listen to, you will get listeners.
It's really not difficult, even though some six-figure-salary bods in the BBC are intent of justifying their existence and salary, by trying to pretend that it is, and its a 'problem', that they have to solve.

Tiggs - // I like a lot of 60s and 70s stuff and all different genres. //
Then you will like the station, because it is the music played that determines who listens, rather than the presenter, unless it's someone a listener can't stand at all.
The station is aimed at the 'senior' listeners' that Radio Two is determined to force off its demographic.
The presenters are also 'senior' and therefore provide nostalgic listening for the audience, but that's not really essential.

I used to listen to Radio 1 and Capitol regularly in the 80s and 90s tuning into the top 40 on a Sunday at 5pm. And Simon Bates Our Tune.
I stopped listening in the early 00s after I had a nuisance neighbour playing very loud D&B music most nights until the early hours, for nearly two years. I hated music at that time as it left a bad taste in my mouth, but gradually got back into it again.
