They are all just using the torch light function on their mobile phones at concerts these days though. And waving them instead of lighters.

No idea when it started but it stopped many years ago once everyone took a mobile phone.

Did this myself at a Cliff Richard concert over 30 years ago. Never a great fan but it added to the atmosphere. As has been said, mobile phone light is what my granddaughter uses these days. Very few folk would have a lighter.
