..By a band or artist you thought you might like to hear an album by, but just don't like?
I bought the first Kings Of Leon album on the strength of "Molly's Chambers", but can't remember the last time I played it.

For gods sake have they got something against the guitars that they used to play with...oh yes they did. Whats the most disappointing thing about this album is that everyone else sod*ing loves it.
jamesy boy, have to disagree about the Kings of Leon album, it was constantly played in my car for about 12ths after I bought it!
I do agree with Dreddnaught though, I also bought the Magic Numbers album on the strength of the first two singles and have listened to it twice at a push!
For me it was The Darkness, first album, can't even remember the name of it it was that good. I gave it away in the end.

I see your point. I've had a couple of experiences like that - where I've had an album for months, and then suddenly 'got it'. However, if I'd previewed the albums I listed (except Madonna's), I know I wouldn't have bought them...for me the disappointment came because the albums didn't seem anything like the lead singles off them.
Madonna's was a disappointment because it wasn't anywhere near as good as her two previous releases.
The Skunk Anansie one just scared the living daylights out of me.
