Bit stuck in bottom corner . Which chant suggests a  degree of polishing. Is it sanding? Also cook removing stew from cooker modern. I have ov--. Oven? Any ideas appreciated

Been plodding away (and it has been a plod!) but still cannot work out 11d,… Passage therein shaped by act, fast push (11). I have ??c?sts?aft. None of which might be right, of course! Any hints welcomed.

Thanks - I assumed it was but none of the anagram solvers can do anything with those letters to give a one-word answer which matches either the letters I have or the clue.  Why do we put ourselves through this every week?

Go to Chambers the first two letters are up. I do Azed Everyman the Times Guardian everyday/week. As Poirot said it keeps the little grey cells going! Plus as in my eighties it is a lovely hobby along with music newspapers  books and wine!
