An early start today so I hope that's ok with smow.

We are in our way to the vets with Islay.

Who has been limping for 2 weeks, not helped by the fact she won't let anyone look at her paws.

So I managed to take some photos of them whilst she was sleeping and her front paws are covered in sores and what look like warts!!

So she is being knocked out and we will see what the outcome is.

I hope your days are full of sunshine and promise.

Have a good day x

Good  morning DDIL, not at all.Thats quite strange because our 3yr old Molly has been limping for 2 days, but she is cheerful, purring, eating, sleeping and playing as usual. Have looked and can't see a thing so I think she's probably done one of her mad jumps onto the windowsill and landed funny. But I said if no improvement by today then I would ring vet. Hope your poor Islay is ok. Wonder what the sores are all about??  Please let us all know the outcome. Sending you and Islay much love xx

Good morning, poor Islay, we no longer have any pets but know how worrying it is when they are ill are injured or ill  .Looks like another sunny morning, had a good 3 mile hilly walk yesterday.  Been called to Dr's for a health check this morning, then must get the spare room straight, we have a friend from where we used to live arriving on Monday for a few days.

Question Author

Just sitting outside waiting for them to open.

Have you checked her paws for grass seeds?

Well I made the mistake of googling her symptoms and basically according to Dr Google she has a contagious foot rot!!

Morning Ubasses, Colin would love to join you on a one of your walks.

hope all goes well at the drs.

DDIL - guess I know just how much some vets can rip you off and I really don't want to spend god knows what on an appointment for her to then hop onto the vets table limp free & look at me as if to say 'What limp!?'....which is Sod's Law what she will do! No I can't see a thing so- she just doesn't seem to like me touching the very edge of that paw.

Morning ubasses - hope all goes well with doctor. And your friend - how long since you last saw them?

Hopefully check will not throw anything up, not even sure what they actually do.  As far as I know I have only got one thing wrong and they cannot do anything about paralysed nerves.

Friend popped into to see us the afternoon before we moved, so 5 months ago.  He is the first, another couple have asked if they can come September, if all the people who said they want to visit do, I will be very busy.  We were very involved in our old village, they even threw us a leaving party and we got a write up in the village magazine.

Just passing through to say Good Morning to everyone.  Sun is shining here - hope your day goes well and dogs and cats not suffering too much. x

Well that was eventful! Islay had to be sedated before I could leave the surgery she was getting herself in such a state!

Bless she really dislikes the vets - I don't have the heart she has to go back in a few weeks time for her vaccinations!

Now nursing a coffee and a bun in the local town whilst I wait for news.

Morning, could they not give her the vaccinations today - whilst she's sedated?

Question Author

My vet does no  like giving vaccinations before the year is up.

In fact in the past when I have tried booking it when it is due they have suggested coming back in a months time.  Depending on what is going on with her paws it could be that she has to go back anyway so - i will just wait and see.

Morning all. Hope its something simple DDIL, we do love and worry about our pets.

Its brightish here this morning, We can now see out of our windows without being obscured by the scaffolding poles, removed finally on monday. Car passed its MOT ok and we have had an early delivery of groceries so thats our excitement for the day

Have a happy day everyone

Any news yet DDIL?? x

Question Author

Going to speak to the vets  at 12

Morning all.

I hope it's nothing serious.

Hello folks xx

Fingers crossed for Islay (and DDIL)

Question Author

Oh wow - thank goodness for insurance!!

OK on her left paw she does have corns but as they are high off ground surface so will not be bothered by being walked on.

Her right paw which is the one she was lame on is she has a very well hidden wound - it would appear that she stood on something that came out straight away but they are concerned about the type of pus that came out.

Apparently (about to be gross) cat and dog pus is runny and free flowing but rabbit pus is thick and blobby - Islay has rabbit pus, so they have taken swabs, cleaned out the wound and filled her  with painkillers and antibiotics.

She is now home and feeling rather sorry for herself.

medication should soon sort her out and she will revel in the tlc lol

Question Author

Yes she has to go back next week for a check up

That sounded nasty but she'll soon be up and running again,  keeping you on your toes. x

Oh bless her, thank goodness you took her to the vet. She should be feeling a lot better soon x
