There was a song called Barbara Allen, I believe it was the flip side of 'Keep On' by Bruce Channel.

postdog, You may be thinking of the fact that Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys wrote 'Surf City' and gave it to Jan and Dean who had a nuber one with. Years later Dean torrence stopped off at a recording session where the Beach Boys were recording their 'Party' album and he joined in with the vocals on Barbara Ann.
