"Down Came The Rain" was recorded in 1964 by Mitch Murray who was half of the Murray/Callendar songwriting partnership (Billy Dont Be A Hero / Avenues & Alleyways etc). It became fairly well known in the 80's when Steve Wright used to play snippets of it on his afternoon show on Radio 1.
