Coldplay - disappearing up their own @rse?
Before I post this question, I would like to say I own all their albums, have seen them live three times, and think they are immensely musically talented.
However, am I not alone in thinking there is an immense smugness about them? Specifically Chris Martin? What was all that "I'm so flexible" rolling on his back business at the Brits about? when I just sat there thinking 'stop looking like such a ****** mate!'
I'm just watching them on C4 now, musically excellent, but an apparent shallowness to them. I don't buy the "I love the earth" line when CM was recently seen bumping his BMW X5 SUV gas guzzler into another car, and the whole 'don't photograph me' when him and his wife seem to take lots of oppotunities to get their faces in the press. Am I alone in thinking Chris Martin is a bit of a fraud?
Is it a case of "great tunes, but shut your gob?"

I have always hated Coldplay with a passion you can only dream of, and I simply avoid looking at them, or listening to them when ever possible, so I don't have to worry about why Chris Martin puts different coloured plasters on his fingers, or bakes vegan cakes for his baby daughter, or any of the pronouncements he makes in the press or from the stage.
There are sixty million people on this island of ours - one million of them think Coldplay are the Second Coming, and the other fifty-nine million think they are a bunch of trendy left-wing tree-hugging sixth-form-poetry-writing cable-knit-sweater--wearing terminally-earnest bed-wetting lentil steamers who are taking up valuable oxygen.
Do the math - ignore them.
