Is 'There she goes' by The La's about drug taking? I read somewhere that it was. 'coursing through my veins' being a possible pointer to back up the case.

Considering that La's main man Lee Mavers was a smack addict par excellance, the answer is yes, but he's always denied it to my knowledge...

i knew about golden brown, but enjoy the silence!!! That's a revalation to me, as it is one of my all-time favourite songs. but now it all makes sense. cheers bobbobley.
How do you explain 'words are very unnecessary, they can only do harm', then? Doesn't sound drug related to me
For rja211077.

Since smack is a euphoric drug and not a sociable one, it might be Dave Gahan is implying that interupting him in the middle of a smack session is a bad idea -

"Words like violence Break the silence Come crashing in Into my little world".

Alternatively, since Gahan was well aware he was a junkie, there was little point (in his mind) in shoving the fact in his face. I'd be surprised if ETS wasn't a drug song. Most of the others on the album are.

I always thought it was about oral sex! At least thats what I read in Select magazine when I was a student.
