I think American Idol need to employ me to be a music advisor!!

I was just watching them slate one girl for singing Stevie Wonder's "You are the Sunshine of my Life", and accusing her of it being too "safe"- ie- there were no challenging big belty notes. What nobody seems to realise is, that the BACKING TRACKS which they use are obviously going to be in the original key. So if a girl (high voice) sings Stevie Wonder (low voice), the girl is gonna sound dull. Why on earth can't they transpose the backing tracks to make them songs applicable for either sex to sing?

It just gets me that nobody seems to realise this! If the backing track was made a bit higher, that girl would have sounded amazing.
