The most heart-wrenching song ever?

I know this can vary from day to day, but most people have one song that make them cry if they are in the right (wrong?) frame of mind.

For years, mine has been Long Distance Love by Little Feat, but it has just been eclipsed by Jeff Buckley's Forget Her.

The sheer angst and agony he conveys, made all the more poignant by the personal demons that affected his work, and eventually took his life, is heart-breaking.

Gone Away-The Offspring. Always has me balling
"I Dreamed a dream" (from Les Miserables)...particularly when sung by Ruthie Henshell

Candlelight 911 remix, with the little girl who's daddy died in 911 :-(

Eric Clapton - "Tears In Heaven". A tribute to Claptons son Conor, who died in 1991, after falling from the 53rd floor of an apartment block aged just 4and a half. Reduces me to tears every time I hear it :-(

I'm will Gill on this one- how you pick your life up after something like this is beyond me. The song's heart-breaking.

That was one for me too Gill 05 and Boo, I heard EC perform it on TV just after his son had died, he played it sitting with an accoustic in his lap, and I was weeping buckets by the time he got to the end!
I Want You by Elvis Costello
Ship Building by Robert Wyatt
Save the Children by Marvin Gaye
Northern Sky by Nick Drake (in fact most of Nick Drake's back catalogue!)
and for some inexplicable reason Baby Can i Hold You by Tracy Chapman (must be something rooted deep in my subconscious because i can find no reason to find it so moving!)
By the way this must be the only question i have ever seen you post andy - something happening to prompt it maybe? (none of my business of course!)
how about honey by bobby goldsboro.

Music is very emotive, and personal, songs that effect me are. The Dark Is Rising, by Mercury Rev, and Going Back by Dusty Springfield, which i have requested be played at my funeral. I know it's not popular but the hymn Abide with Me, also stir's my emotions, while on this subject Peter Sellars famously had In The Mood played at his funeral, what song would bring a smile to your friends ?.
