The words are as below:
The Ring My Mother Wore
Though earth holds many treasures rare,
Of gems and gold in store
My heart holds one more precious far,
The ring my mother wore.
I saw it first when I a child,
Was playing by her side
She told me then 'twas Father's gift,
When she became his bride.
The years have come, the years have gone,
Earth's dearest ties are riven,
Still I behold that band of gold,
A link 'twixt earth and heaven.
I keep it as a token now,
Of happy days of yore,
The dearest thing on earth I vow,
The ring my mother wore.
