Live 8, worst band there. they walked of in a strop because Geldof had to cut there time on stage as it was running late and they thought they deserved to stay on longer because they were better then other bands. I had always liked them up until then. But hey if you going to see them in concert they will have longer and be much heppier :-)
But they are playing near me this year and I may end up there and be proved wrong :-)

Thanks 4getmenot, where are they playing near you?

High Lodge, Thetford Forest

I'm going to Blickling Hall in norfolk - I don't think that's that far away tho.

No its not, thats strange they would do two so close together. I love the outdoor shows though, I'm sure u'll have a wicked time.
I "saw" them in about 1980 and they were pretty good, although I was very, very drunk at the time, so I'm only going on what my mates told me!

Gazza, I wasn't even born in 1980!!

I think the night they are doing at B/Hall was supposed to be done by one of the Gibb brothers, but they dropped out and UB40 agreed to replace him at the last minute or something. I don't live in that area, but my dad does and he said something like that.

Hi natalie_1982 me and my husband saw them a few years ago at Wembly Arena and I'm sorry to say but they weren't very good at all. We were left feeling dissapointed. Sorry!
So the only one that thinks they were good was drunk, oh dear :-)
Thanks Natalie, you've just made my day! You really know how to make a guy feel good! :o)

Missed out on the Blickling Tickets - am beginning to feel quite relieved now. I thought they would be excellent at an outdoor event at Blickling. It's not far from me - neither is Thetford Forest. Saw Madness last year at Thetford and they were absolutely brilliant. Did you go 4getmenot?

I saw them in about 1981, I thought they were really good. Supported by The Black Music Co-Op if I remember correctly.

Yes I did go see Madness gessoo, everybody else was drinking as I was the driver :-( but even so I was up dancing around with the rest of the by the end of the night, what a fantastic atmosphere. Would definitely go see them again. Was thinking of going to see Pet Shop Boys there this summer just for a laugh and good night out.

I expect you remember just how cold it was 4getmenot. I had about 6 layers of clothing on! I went with my son who promptly 'lost' me as soon as Madness started. Not to worry, I ended up right down the front with a group of rasta type folk dancing myself silly and getting high on the 'smoke' fumes around me!! Ended up boiling hot!!! Not bad for an old gal of 58!! I embarrass my son :o)

I have a guitar at home which was Robin Campbell's from a UB40 tour. I won it in a competition. It is left handed. so not much good to anybody I know. I suppose a dedicated fan of UB40 might really like it?
Was quite chilly yer :-) but once I started dancing I warmed up. We were stood by the medical tent coz I went with my big sis who was 3 days from her due date. :-)

I've seen them 3 times now, the last time was in november and I have to disagree with a lot of these posts in that I think they are brill live. You either have to be a UB40 fan or at least a raggae fan to enjoy and appreciate their concerts. They are one of the most successful british artists of all time so they must be doing something right!

Gessoo you should put that guitar on ebay, you would make an absolute fortune. If you dont want to make a fortune i would be only too happy to take it off your hands. I would never sell it.

shazbang you can answer something for me then, how many members are there in UB40?

I was thinking of putting it on Ebay shazbang, but haven't a clue about a reserve price. I tried finding out but was told by experts that UB40 weren't popular any more so it wouldn't make much.

It is signed personally by Robin and has a letter of authenticity. No make, so it is probably a one off custom built. Just plain black - and it came in its case which smells of cigarettes.

I would give it to you Shazbang if I didn't need the money, but some more pennies would come in very useful at the moment.
