Taking Music Grades
I have decided to take up learning to play the flute and was wondering how to go about taking grades once i start to improve?
I will be greatful for any information.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Hi..it would be best to speak to a professional music teacher as they can normally put you in for your grades. You can also speak to someone at your local college's music department to see if they do any of the grades or if they know of some one who can help you in your area. Be warned as it does cost to do the exams. You can also find books that can help you study towards your exams such as:

Most people (but not all) take Associated Board exams. There are others - Guildhall, Trinity etc, but AB are the best known and produce a wealth of preparatory material. Here's theire website:
