So, who was mr Bojangles?? real life or fiction?

written by jerry jeff walker in 1968, "Mr Bojangles" is said to memorialise Bill "Bojangles" Robinson, although equally the Bojangles in the song was another individual who may have been inspired by Mr Robinson. Both were tap dancers.

I lived in New Orleans for a number of years over 20 . And Mr. Bojangles danced a lot on the streets with an umbrella and would get bands and people to follow him dancing down the street . I myself have joined these groups many times . Very fond memories . I love New Orleans no other place like it . Most of my family is still there.
