You're right it is a complete con but it is no different than all the betting shops in every town. If people are gullible enough to ring up and spend their money than thats up to them. No-one is forcing them.
As I work nights and more often than not, there is nothing on the tv so I have no option but to watch this programme. And I have also come to the conclusion that some of the calls really sound suspious! they give clues out that even my cat could solve!!! I just wonder how much the phone bills are because when someone does win and they are asked "What are you going to do with the winnings?" answer Pay the Phone Bill which just about sums these programmes up. I would like watchdog to do a programme on these shows. because they are raking it in.
Why shouldn't they host shows like this? They're doing nothing wrong, if people want to ring for the chance to win some cash whats up with that? They must be doing something right, they get enough calls. You don't HAVE to watch. Chill Out!
