Paul McCartney only 2nd richest???

On the news last night, when they were talking about the split of the mcCartneys, they said that Paul is the 2nd richest musician in the world. What i can't work out is who is 1st. Does anyone know? I would have always said Paul. There is only one other i can think of but i thought he'd lost all his money, MJ

according to the guiness book of records Paul is the richest musician in the world. in 2004 he reached 800 million pounds!

The Sunday Times list of music millionaires is topped once again by Clive Calder, the former record label boss behind acts such as Britney Spears and 'N Sync. Calder, valued at GBP1,300m, made the bulk of his money from selling his Zomba label to BMG in 2002.

He keeps Sir Paul McCartney, who for some years topped the music millionaires list, in second place.

I still think Paul is by far the richest at �800 million. John Lennon and him were the world's top songwriters, top band - top everything. This website just about sums it up. No one comes even close to him.

Hi julie, JackDaniels is right the richest person in the music industry is Clive Calder,with the Beatle second,probably drop even lowerafter the divorce, I think Calders wealth is about 1200 million & pauls about 850, poor sod eh!!!
