ok, this is driving me crazy. The Raconteurs song Steady As She Goes sounds just like a song my dad used to listen to. The chorus went "Is she really going out with him, is she really going to take him home tonight, is she really going out with him, coz if my eyes don't deceive me there's something going on around here." Does anyone know what this song is?

Bl**dy hell, that was damned quick! I even tried singing the chorus to my dad at the weekend, but he just looked at me blankly, and I could see other people in the train carriage sniggering, so I stopped.

Hi Soozmac,

You're not wrong there! Its the opening bass-line from the Joe Jackson song that has been 'borrowed' (to use the polite term !) for 'Steady As She Goes'. The rest of the song is quite different to the JJ one though.

yup, the bass line is exactly the same, that's what I meant. As soon as I heard Steady As She Goes, I had my fingers in my ears, going "Bum, bah bum, bah bum, bah bum bum" to myself. Thanks for the answers, I knew I wasn't going mad....

As to 4getmenot's first comment, I do not think it possible for anyone to confirm that Joe Jackson is one of The Jacksons, even allowing for Michael's claim that vitiligo has been exhibited by members of the family.

Joe Jackson is from Portsmouth, so no he's not related to Michael. :-)

Couldnt really care where Joe comes from, but then you had to put them right on that aswell. :-) and still you're finding something else to argue about.
