All of my dogs have been named after dead singers i had otis the red setter after otis reading, floyd another setter and morrison (jim) the shepard, i will be getting a weimarana soon and want to contiue the music theme but apart from hendrix i cant think please help (its a boy) x

Bit off the point really. I keep koi Carp and I name all my fish after the people they relate to. For example, Linford because he's fastest off the blocks for food. Nobby, after Nobby Ueda (motor cycling). He has a red dot on his head like a Japanese flag.

So, take time, look at your dog, and name what you think he reminds you of. Morissey, if he's a miserable looking so and so, Freddie (mercury) if he's a bit flash. Wait a minute! What if it's a girl dog! Madonna, Gerri, Bette, 3 dog night! The list is endless.

I have 2 Weimaraners, they're beautiful and I love them to bits. But, if there isn't anyone at home with them most of the day, you're going to find life very tough - this breed need constant attention or they'll wreck your house. Also, train your puppy well - they need firm (but kind, of course) handling. When walking Weimaraners, I strongly suggest using spray collars (available from good pet shops) and get them used to joggers and cyclists - otherwise they tend to chase and try and bite them.
