... and that's where the argument starts, isn't it? Is RnB the rough, raw, electric guitar and gospel vocal sound of late 50's black America? The derivative, heavier electric guitar and snarled vocals of 60's white Britain? Or the smooth, coffee table/ Radio2 stylings of the 70's and 80's? Or the more urban, edgy music that gets in the RnB charts these days? You pays your money and you takes your choice.
