It's beautiful isn't it? I'm Irish, and this is a really poignant song. If you can, try and get a version by The Fureys or The Irish Tenors, or any traditional Irish artists. It rocks that you like it Brian!
Yea try the Fureys, Wolfetones, Paddy Reilly , Foster & Allen or The Dubliners. I love my Irish music but I hate that song. It's just so over played. If you download some songs by the other artists you will find some truly beautiful songs (Ragland Road - The Dubliners)
i used to go see charlie and the bhoys every week in the pub i agree about it being overplayed but it is a great song
my personal fav is ordinary sunday
you should have a listen to the dropkick murphy's version of this song. absolute cracking punk version.
I have to agree with gobshyte - Dropkick Murphys version is amazing!! You should listen to the whole album , Dirty Glass is great as is Black Velvet Band.
