There's a fairly depressing sounding piece of classical music that I am chasing desperately at the moment. It is played in two films I know of.....Once in a film called the Notebook when the main character Noah and the female lead go to an abandoned house, and she sits at the piano and plays it before they get down to their attempted "first time"......and once in the classic 80's fatal attraction when Michael Douglas has just told his wife that he has had an affair, later shortly after he calls up to speak to his family and his wife is playing the same piece of music on the piano. It's really a rather sad piece of music. Heard it before many times.....any help?

Prelude for piano op 28, No 4 ?
There is a piece of classical music in 'Fatal Attraction' called 'Partie in G' by Pachelbel, but no luck with 'The Notebook'.
Hi georgehenryp,

The piece you are looking for might possibly be Puccini's 'Un Bel Di Vedremo' from the opera 'Madame Butterfly'. You can play a sample of it on the following link -
