Incidental film music
Are there any recent pieces of incidental film music that you think will carry time as great pieces music?
e.g The Imperial March from Star Wars.

It was used in the Matrix, and has been used elsewhere as well im sure. Same definately goes for Spybreak by Propellarheads. Although neither (I dont think) were written especially for the film, they are most associated with the Matrix. Any good? I'll try and think of some more now!
I would say that some already have: John Williams themes for "Jaws", "E.T." and "CE3K"; Ennio Morricone's "On Earth as it is in Heaven" from "The Mission" and his "Harmonica Man" from "Once Upon a Time in the West"; Hans Zimmer's music from "Gladiator"; John Barry's "Dances with Wolves" score; Howard Shore's work on the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. I'd say those are just the tip of the iceberg!
May I suggest Vangelis' Chariots of Fire? Starts off subtly with a minimalist bassline, horns faded in, and then BABAAAH horns, stunning piano, and those trademark analog synths strings of his! If there ever was a piece of film music that captured a sense of victory, that must be it!
But yeah, I also agree with the other writers here, there's plenty of music we shouldn't forget to mention...

Thanks to all who have posted thier choices, and i'd have to agree that anything that John Williams has written/conducted is always perfect for the film, but only some pieces will last time, eg that infamous Jaws music.
Sorry for the bad example in the question as i ask for recent and then quote a 26 year old example, and yes to EINSTEIN it was meant as Incidental rather than Theme music.
