The results were supposedly taken from a survey of the public. There were some odd entries nonetheless. Much as I like Radiohead, I was very surprised to see OK Computer at the top.

My 'money' was on Dark Side of the Moon (no pun intended).
I was annoyed that Blondie's Parallel Lines was only 98 or something and Oasis got in the top 10!

The Elvis and Abba albums (only one of each too) didn't do very well either.

I like Radiohead but I don't know who would vote for that as their number 1
I was well chuffed OK Computer got to No. 1. I dug it out to listen to on the way into work, and the b*stard skipped all the way through. This has completely ruined my day.

I had my money on Revolver, and was faintly disgusted when Sgt. Pepper beat it.
the top 100 is pre-picked.all the voters get to do is pick their top 3 from that list - bit of a con really.
no metallica albums fair enough and ok maybe bon jovi at a push but iron maiden and meatloaf ? no thanks !
I have to say Bon Jovi suck but Bat Out Of Hell should have been much higher up
OK Computer always tops these sort of lists. Personally I doubt that it's because it's the best album ever; more because Radiohead fans seem to be rabidly obsessed by the album.

Most of these lists are a bit of a sham, because there are numerous albums that always appear in the list:

The Beatles- Revolver, Sgt. Pepper, Abbey Road.
Nirvana- Nevermind.
R.E.M.- Automatic For The People.
Beck- Odelay.
Primal Scream- Screamadelica.
Public Enemy- It Takes A Nation Of...
U2- The Joshua Tree, (occ.) Achtung Baby.
Oasis- What's The Story..., Definitely Maybe.
Pink Floyd- Dark Side Of The Moon.
The Sex Pistols- Never Mind The ********.
Blur- Parklife.
Radiohead- OK Computer, The Bends.

That's 17 albums off the top of my head (there's probably 17 more) that always appear, not because they're good (although some of them are) but because they're a safe option. Oh well.
