The bars on a xylophone are made of wood (Gr. 'xylos'= wood). The bars on metallophones are made of metal. A glockenspiel is just one kind of metallophone - usually has very shiny bars and 2 rows of notes. (Source Hertfordshire Grid for Learning) I don't find a reference for chime bars...
Glockenspiel - metal and lies flat
Xylophone - wooden and lies flat
Chime bars - metal and stands vertically (I think!)
Glock - metal
Xylo - wood
Chime Bar - small flat chocolate bar, advertised by Harry Enfield :)
