Is it true that Budweiser's annoying 'whassup' catchphrase came from a part of a Bob Dylan track? If so, which track is it from?

It was the catchphrase of a group of young friends. When one of them, a director called Charles Stone III, made a short film based on it, Budweiser saw it, loved it, and turned it into a commercial (starring Stone and his friends)... and the rest is history.

what plop, rimram. Why wouldn't friends have catchphrases??; "is that a fact or just conjecture?", being one of my friend's catchphrases, he says it many times a day. . - although, i could agree that 'whassup' is more of a catchword rather than phrase, 'give it some welly' is a catch phrase; "say what you see, if you see it, say it", is too. I got several catchphrases of my own, one is 'what's going off?", another is "what's going on?" i didn't invent them but if you repeat them oftener than anyone else they're yours by default. [and not a lot of people know that], well they do now, "oy! have you seen my washboard?"
Absolutely right xyzzy. Me and my friends had LOADS of catchphrases. Unfortunately, with the exception of one ('Your Mum!'), they are all far too risqu to be shown on a family web page
