Hi there,

Does anybody know of any websites that you can send mashup remixes to in order to get them played, promoted, heard by others etc? Any suggestions would be greately appreciated.

Also, does anyone know if you can put this type of remix onto myspace?

Thanks.

Hi, i was gonna suggest MySpace as your best bet, although i'm not sure about whether it infringes on copyright..Maybe try contact the tom guy?
Also have you thought about sending any into a radio station perhaps radio 1? Because i think a lot of the dj's on theere are all for promoting new dj's and the like, esp. Jo whiley & Zane lowe, depends what kind of mash-up it is i suppose but a lot of the others seem keen on hearing listeners music like Huwe Stephens (not sure on spelling), & Rob da Bank.
sorry this isn't much a of help!

Thanks missjef, thats a very encouraging answer. Just to read that you think i should send it in to radio 1 is inspiring me to do just that. It's a mashup of The Fall's 'Touch Sensitive' (the one out of the car ad where they're all playing hide and seek) and Beastie Boys 'Body Movin' by the way. If anyone wants me to send it to them please leave an email and i'll send them a copy as i'm really keen to gauge reaction to it. Thanks.
Just another thought, Jk & Joel sometimes play mash up's when they are on.. although when they have done so its usually been mickey take ones like dads army theme tune mixed with a dance track.. but i think its definately worth sending it in, or finding out whether you can post it on myspace. glad to be of help x
