Ok I now I should know this by now but what does LP stand for?

Are you young by any chance? Prior to MP3, prior to CD, and prior to casette, there was vinyl records - singles and Long Players.
long play. I know the answer was already there, but I'm 'young' and i knew that =)

There were/areE Ps as well Extended Play. They used to have 2 or 3 tracks on each side. 45 rpm

No I am 27 I know what vinyl is and that they were available at 331/3, 45 and 72 I think, as my brothers and I used to play the records at 72 to make people sound like the chipmonks or slow them down to distort the song, but I never really thought until now about what the LP stood for. Did you have an 8track too?

I also know what LP is on my VHS recorder the thing that came out before a DVD!!
27,....compared to me you ARE young.
I'm only 40 yet I once came across a record player with 16 & 1/6 rpm! Put a 7" single on at that speed and it sounded demonic!
