Hi

Does anyone know where I can download the song Ellan Vanin. Its the unofficial song of the Isle of Man so I thought there may be somewhere to download it. I am unable to find it by searching but I am a bit rubbish at that.

Its actually to play at a funeral so we dont have time to buy it and have it delivered but it doesnt matter if we have to pay to download it thats fine.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello
Sorry to hear about the circumstances you are looking for this song under.

On iTunes, there are three versions of the song you're looking for, by Rev Hammer, Kenneth McKellar and Lleisiau'r Frogwy. All going for 79p each.

A reason you may have had trouble finding it is because the song is spelt "Ellen Vannin", with two N's. If you double click on each song, you can hear a 30-second preview.

Hope this helps,
Connor.
Ellan (not Ellen) Vannin (not Vanin) is "Isle of Man" in Manx...

There are several pieces of music named Ellan Vannin. The one Rebecca was looking for and to which Connor pointed is a lament, often played at funerals. Another, by the Spinners, is about a shipwreck. While its subject relates to a tragic loss of life, It doesn't strike me as what you would play at a funeral...
