I suspect ist's just an easy-to-remember name and doesn't stand for anything special. Since I'm first - let's not all rush in to put what we think the 'S' should stand for - it's not big or clever!
They are one of pop music's biggest bands at the moment ... and with good reason too. S Club 7 are storming the charts with their fresh faced pop, laced with R&B grooves and catchy hooks. Aged between the ages of 17 and 23, Jo, Bradley, Rachel, Hannah, Tina, Paul and Jon are an all-singing, all-dancing, all-acting super-kids guarenteed to put a smile on your face. S Club 7 are an upbeat band with a great attitude to life! With their music (including the smash hit single 'Bring It All Back') and TV shows landing them incredible success and international fame all over the world, the S Club are surely a very cool group. Created in late 1998 by Simon Fuller (who also formed the Spice Girls), the S Club are pop icons with skills in areas such as singing, dancing, acting and fashion (so don't let anyone ever say they're not very talented!). So, what does the S stand for? Whatever you want it to!

Quote lifted from http://www.angelfire.com/pop2/joomeara/sclub7.html

It stands for the same thing as the S in Harry S Truman. (And if you want to know what that is, you'll have to look it up...!)
I thought it stood for sh*te
Interestingly, I remember this question being asked on CBBC a while ago and they had Sclub7 in the studio. The members all threw in ideas "Sausage" "Shirt" and "S**t" - did I hear that correctly? I'm still to this day convinced that Bradley said "S**t". I would agree.
I'm pretty sure it stands for Simon as in Simon Fuller the man behind both bands.
I thought it was "Spice". Once saw a documentary woth Simon Fuller and as i recall they were originally going to be called "Spice Club 7"
I heard it was just an error, its actually Sclub 7 and sclub is slang for 'obviously manufactured'.
It doesn't stand for anything. They wanted to put a letter before the 'club 7' and they chose S as its the 19th letter of the alphabet - 19 management is the company who signed them.
