I wonder what the HNIC is or what it stands for? I've heard it referred to in quite a few rap/hip hop songs?

The initials stand for 'Head Niggah In Charge' and its an ironic use of a racist term to describe the leader(s) in various rap outfits. The term was originally used by Prodigy, the lead rapper in top rap outfit Mobb Deep, but it has since spread and is being used as a general expression for a number of rap group leaders.

hnic dates way b4 any rappe used it...way back to slavery and more recently in shows such as goodtimes and the jeffersons.........
