it was the Small Faces

It was definitetly originally by the Kinks, however Small Faces covered it i believe.

There seems to be a bit of confusion here. The Kinks definitely wrote (ie, Ray Davies) and recorded Sunny Afternoon with the lyric "lazing on a sunny afternoon". The Small Faces did the song Lazy Sunday Afternoon - which is quite different. Hope this clears it up!
