Hi, apologies if I sound like I have no idea what I'm talking about, it's mostly because I don't! My boyfriend is convinced that Metallica released a cover version of 'Release Me' by Engelburt Humperdink which appeared as a b side to something, does anyone know if he's right and if so where I might be able to download it?
Thanks!

Def Leppard covered the song but I've not found anything for Metallica.
I love Metallica but am by no means an expert. I havent heard it, and neither has my buddy, who is a bit more mental on them than me.

They have done a shed load of covers though, Whiskey in the Jar and Stone Cold Crazy have both been ace ones.
I've checked a couple of EXTREMELY comprehensive online discographies (they've done a lot of stuff!) and there's no sign of any song called anything like "Release Me".
hi folks,
def leppard did do a live version on the b side of a single off the hysteria album. it was not sung by joe elliot though, it was sung by one of their roadies who they got on stage. and by the way it was shocking|!!
