Saw this last night on one of the satellite music channels (I'd never seen it before).

Who was the gorgeous young woman in the video?

Watch it here...

Looks like ex Page 3 model Nina Carter to me (married to Rick Wakeman) but I might be wrong.

Cheers sparkyharky! :o)

Any idea why I have no sound when I watch YouTube?
Hi SurreyGuy,

Check the volume slider on the YouTube screen (beside the timer display) probably all the way down for you (muted).

I assume you are getting sound on everything else on your PC.
Question Author
Hi sparkyharky

Volume slider on YouTube was all the way over to the right - FULL VOLUME! :o) Still no sound. I get sound on everything else execpt YouTube :o(
YouTube uses Adobe Flash Player (currently version 9)

Might be worth trying to re-install or upgrade this, then.

Question Author

Try reading the link above, see if it prompts you in any way.
If I click on the link to the Phd track it works every time, so must be something amiss in your setup

Question Author
Hi sparkyharky

Thanks. Read that info and then checked my PC and STILL can't get it to work. As far as I can tell, all my PC capabilities meet those in the link you gave me :o(
We'll crack this one yet S.G. :-)

I assume you are running Windows XP

Do you have the little Speaker Icon in the Task bar beside the clock? (usually says Volume if you hover over it)

Double click on it if you do, and all those Windows Volume sliders appear.

Check the one called WAVE is not all the way down OR in Mute mode.

try that - if you need more info or help come back here.

Fingers crossed!
Question Author
Hi sh - yes, I am running Windows XP. The "wave" slider was all the way up! :o( However, the "master" one was all the way down, but even when I set that to the top I still couldn't hear the video.

Next please! :o)
This is most strange !!!

Are ALL YouTube videos being played with no sound?

Here's another link to another "copy".
Try this, let us know what happens.
...Oh and one more thing to try...

to the right of the YouTube colume slider are two rectangle shapes... click on the one farthest right and an external viewer should load (Windows Media Player for me).

If this is set to view "Full Screen" the picture quality will be lousy, but the sound "might" come through.

We'll crack this... I Won't Let You Down !!!!! :-)
Question Author
Hi sh

Yes - all YouTube vids play minus the sound.

I looked at the slider on Youtube and there were no rectangular icons to the right of it. There were only previews of other videos.

Next please! :o)
The rectangles are part of/under the video screen.

You should have from left to right

A Pause button
A Rewind Button
A Progress Bar
A Time elapsed/Time remain indicator
A Volume Slider
A Speaker Icon/Mute Button
A Button to expand the Video to Full YouTube Screen
A Button to launch external Video Player

If you don't have this it will be a browser or security problem. You may well need the latest version of Java enabled and installed.

Can you confirm what functions from the above list you can actually see?

Question Author
sh - I got all of them!
OK... if you can now see the little rectangle boxes, what happens if you click the one which launches the external viewer???? Is there any sound.
Question Author
The "Play" icon (arrow) changes to a "Pause" icon (two vertical lines), but the video keeps playing.......................with no sound! :o(
Question Author
Well, I clicked on that link and got presented with (I think) about 8 different K-Lite Codec Packs.

I downloaded the top one and followed the steps precisely.

I then went thru the "Start", "Programs", "K-Lite Codec Pack", "Configuration", etc and.....................................there was no "Fix non-working system sound" option!

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
