What was the first cd you brought ? This is more for the older music buying ( when recordings were on vinyl) people. Mine was Dire Straights:- Making Movies ,yours please

Queen's Greatest Hits Vol 1
God - that's going back ! I remember being chuffed to get a free CD on the cover of Q magazine - that seemed fantastic at the time !

Fireworks by a Liverpudlian indie rock band called Pele, in 1992, two months before owning a CD player! (I knew I was getting one for my birthday). Still a cracking album.
First Vinyl album - Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
First CD - Jeff Waynes War of the Worlds (also bought original vinyl but i keep that safe !), Both Excellent albums & should be in everyones' collection!

it took me another two or three years however before I finally succombed and actually bought a CD player !!


I'd never previously bothered with CD's, as all that seemed to be available was Dire Straights and Michael Jackson.....

The Mornington Crescent Companion by My Life Story. Of course I didn't actually get to hear it until I bought a CD player a couple of years later.

At the time Dire Straits had to be your 1st CD as it was the only one available.
(interesting answer from Carrust....but untrue surely ?)
