Soulwax have done an excellent rock mix of this song, it's on "2 many dj's" volume 2 - its mixed with the stooges "no fun", the whole album is superb.

I've got an mp3 of a death metal version by british band The Ten Masked Men. They've done a lot of metal covers of classic pop tracks (mostly from the 80s/early 90s) with varying levels of success! The best ones are probably "You Spin Me Right Round" and a completely awesome cover of "Sweet Like Chocolate" which always cracks me up. They even covered Smooth Operator by Sade!
