I thought the Scissors Sisters' cover of Comfortably Numb was awful, but I'm a Pink Floyd fan and I know some Sisters' fans liked their cover. I also thought the Wets version of Love Is All Around was much inferior to the Troggs' original. Also, Whitney's version of I Will Always Love You wasn't a patch on Dolly's original. But that's just my opinion.
I don't think I've ever agreed with an opinion on this site quite as much as I agree with Llamatron's comments. Worst of the lot must be their cover of Seasons In The Sun. I can almost see them now, sitting on their little stools, grinning blandly and happily chirrupping their way through a song about a man bidding a sad goodbye to his loved ones as he faces the prospect of imminent death. Classy.
Midge Ure's version of Tom Rush/The Walker Brothers' mighty No Regrets was pretty dire too.
