how much trouble can i get in for driving with no MOT but with good road tax, see I don't think my car will pass MOT
you can get your road tax as long as your MOT is current, even with 1 day left!!
You can get into lots of trouble for no MOT but as long as you are taxed and have no accidents and don't go past one of those number plate recognition road checks, I'm not sure how anyone would know (yes, I know it is all computerised now but does anyone actually chase people with an expired MOT? Apologies if they do).

As Ratter says, even if you only have 1 day left on your MOT, you can still tax your car - so tax it now before the MOT runs out.

Better still, get an MOT!!!!
I was going to reply much the same as some of the above but did not because i suspected dr. gero was preparing to to drive without an mot, Some of you above have unwittingly encouraged dr. gero to do jus that. Dr.gero - it is physically possible to tax you car within 14 day of expiry with just one day left on the mot BUT PLEASE DONT DO IT. I think many of us on this section are fed up with people who continually flout the law with regard to this and insurance and who think the law does not apply to them. There are many laws we dont like but have to compy for the good of society as a whole...
im sure that if the police do stop you with for example 4 worn tyres you get 3 points per tyre which in effect means an instant ban !
If you don't think your car will pass an MOT, why are you driving it ? It either passes and is legal or fails and is not legal. No middle ground.
