ipod 2GB nano

i got this ipod and it shows up as it is charging when i plug it into the computer but it does not show up as anything on the computer. why is this?

Have you registered the device with your computer? Have you access to iTunes library. Try `my computer` on your desktop and it should have `portable devices` it could be under this.
