i'll answer my own question...................money
Mark n Lard have been sacked? When and why? (Sorry, I only really hear R1 when I'm in the car, so not all that often in the early afternoon.)
I don't think they were sacked - they've just decided to call it a day. After all they've been with Radio 1 for 10 years! I'm not too sad about it as I'm at work in the afternoon and never got to listen to them. I'm sorry they're not 'staying together' but I'm sure whatever either of them do next will be great. Hope their shows on Radio 2 and 6 Music don't clash!
they haven't been sacked, they've both decided to leave and go their separate ways to do different shows. so now we have two potentially good shows to look forward to instead of just one, which was well, well past its sell-by-date.
Just a pity Radio 1 are putting their faith in pap like Chris Moyles, who is, let's face it, a legend in his own head
I cannot possibly see how they can as funny when they have gone their seperate ways. They ( believe it or not ) are very serious about music, but seemed to bounce stupid ideas off one another to produce radio comedy genius! I think they will become "serious" broadcastors when they move to Radio 2 and 6 music. What a bloody shame.... only show I listened to on Radio 1,and they have now lost a listener. By the way, I think they may well have been "shoved" on their way because of their continual sarcastic remarks about the music which they were having to play, and the fact that they managed to slip older classics by Pink Floyd and Led Zep onto the airwaves - something that wouldn't have gone down well with Radio 1's "trendy, youthful" image!! Scott Mills -whooooooooooo?
It's very reassuring their timeslot will now be occupied by Colin Shouty Murray and Edith I've got a terrible hangover bowman.Hmm, if you stick these Two together, we might just be able to make another Chris Moyles.
