How many records does a single sell that gets to say, 200 or 100 in the chart? Within the industry I am told that they do calculate to the top 200 but only those in the top 75 are concidered a 'hit'.
Hi Paulo...it all depends on the imte of year your record hits the chart.....Obviously at x-mas you need to shift a load more copies to get into the top 75 (which is considered a hit these days by the bible of the industry the Guinness book of Hit Singles).....a few years ago a record hit the top spot with a miserable sale total of only 12,000 in one week but you only need to shift something like 2,000 in a quiet time to make it into the lower regions of the chart.

Er... so what would that be, then? As far as I know, the lowest weekly sale of a number 1 was 28,000 by "Gotta Get Thru This" by Daniel Bedingfield.
