It's a scam as most "money making" schemes are" See: money.guardian.co.uk/scamsandfraud/story/0,13802,1095616,00.html
Planline is not a scam I joined 7 months ago and have rec'd 2,000 per month from November 2003 my father who is 76 has been involved for 12 months and receives regular income too. Go to a presentation and decide for yourself the Guardian obviously hasn't, do we believe whats in the papers anyway!
I have been a planline member for 18mths and yes I do understand it. It took me about 4 weeks. Its an internet based earnings system and totally transparent no one can mislead you, unlike all the other investments I've tried so far eg endowment mortgages its great I'm now financially secure.
It sounds great, as these things often do. Perhaps if you get in early enough you'll make money on this - I suppose someone's got to otherwise these schemes wouldn't remain so popular!

You might want to cast your eye over the Skepdic.com's appraisal of pyramid schemes before parting with any cash though.

Proceed with caution : )

It's not a pyramid- I've been involved for over two years now and am currently receiving over 5,000 per month from this amazing system (and have not even introduced anyone!)- I'm glad that I listened to my friend when she told me about this and that I gave it a chance, it has changed my life and the lives of everyone involved- given the current financial climate in regard to other 'investment' schemes on offer it strikes me that it is the banks and financial advisors who are the con artists by conning people out of their hard earned cash by charging extortionate rates of interest- pensions are worthless these days and what about the terrible scandal with endowment mortgages- I agree with mvb in that you should go to presentation to see for yourself, planline enables people to take control of their futures by working together.
Does Planline have a website? I didn't find much by searching for it as it seems the term 'planline' is used by lots of groups.

Where are these presentations held / advertised ?

It would be interesting to find out how many people are making money out of this compared to any people who might not be. After all, for a lucky few, spending a pound on the lottery turns out to be an excellent investment - for the rest, not so good.

Obviously I shouldn't base any decisions on reading a few posts - perhaps the people who haven't done well out of Planline haven't posted to say so yet...

Still a bit cautious ; )

I have had more info on Planline.. not been to a meeting yet!. Friends are making money... mbv. says it is not a scam...Well............. Q... If you put 1 in and receive 10 out .. Where do the other 9 come from... it seems the other nine are people ... some will make money .. many will loose..... hopefully they are not your family and friends. As I say I have'nt been to a presentation yet but I intend to soon, but this is my first thoughts.
I have been in Conventional Business for 25 years and have been aproached many times with " Get rich quick schemes " most of them are scams, I agree. There are many great companies around that do offer people the chance to increase their earning power by promoting products or services. I have worked with 3 companies, and have had great success in achieving financial rewards by doing so. I was invited to see Planline a while ago and having done my own due dilligence as to the standards and ethics involved in the system I was highly impressed. I took the time to understand the process. This is simply a marketing system that works well for Planline and very well for anyone that purchases or promotes its products, compared to companies in competition with them. Please do not let anyone fool you into thinking you will get "owt for nowt " See for yourself dont judge a book by it's cover. There are many people earning incredible income both active and passive, but it does take time for those rewards. I encourage anyone to assess for themselves how good Planline is and then use your brain as to its viability, but something this good will stay around. The odds are stacked in your favour as this is not for a chosen few, it is for the few who choose. Thank You for reading my input, keep wealthy, healthy and wise
"thewillow" is a complete moron - the typical "Brit"! I'd urge any intelligent person to consider the following: The company has a three year track record. Everybody gets paid on time Even passive members get paid (no recruitment required) You're paid via a major bank. To be fair, the system does look complicated at first and we Brits are not the brightest in the world, but after a few weeks the concept becomes crystal clear. This is an ultra sophisticated profit sharing programme.I'd urge everyone to join, because you WILL profit. Guy.

mvb... If you have recieved 2.000 per month ... could you say how much did you invest... and did you introduce anybody .. if yes... How many Thanks
"jo brodie" i have been a member of planline since NOV03 I went into the scheme only once i had totally satisfied myself that the company was bonified. this is a MLM company with a difference if you do not introduce anyone then yes eventually 2-5 years you will see a return. you are rewarded with bonus points for purchasing products off there web site, these points then go into the planline system. you can speed up the process by introducing others the only other way to speed up the process is if you are introduced by someone who is personally very proactive in recruiting. i have personally introduced 15 people and now have a team of over 400 people in this short time. as long as people do not exagerate the truth then no one can feel that they have been mislead.
Planline IS a scam.I myself fell for the sweet talk of money for very little work and between a friend and myself we lost thousands.
Don't even go to a meeting unless you are going to ask two very simple questions.
1. Is there are contract to sign before you hand over CASH to someone you don't know.
2. WHEN they tell you there is no contract you MUST ask WHY!
The reason there is none,is that you will need to hand money over to them in CASH.
They will then take your money and expect you to say nothing to anyone except to get other people to their meetings where they will sucker them into giving money to pay their cronies who have been in the PYRAMID scheme for years.
I am so angry with PLANLINE but probably more with myself for falling for their CON.
Funnily enough I had a look at Planline some time ago, but the graphics for their comp plan were just too complicated for me to be bothered with.
Trouble is, most of these things spoil it for other 'work from home' schemes. I currently market VMdirect's helloWorld video communications system and we have slowly built up a growing reputation for supplying a quality service to businesses and individuals.
Now there are Chambers of Commerce using helloWorld, charities, as well as individuals, who are also promoting this as a home business.
But unfortunately we get tarred with the same brush as people like Planline. As Liverpool222 suggests, do your due diligence first, ask loads of questions, and don't be bowled over by the hype. There are home-based businesses out there that are genuine. Just find one that suits you - and don't fall for the 'easy money' line. Systems are easy to follow, but it still takes hard work to make it a success.
