"You got the love" by Candi Staton. Sometimes I feel like throwing my hands up in the air/ I know I can count on you/Sometime I feel like saying Lord I just don't care/You got the love I need to see me through.
Sounds like "You got the love" by The Source featuring Candi Staton.
The big hit version was indeed by The Source feat. Candi Staton. You can hear the breadth of their imagination if you get an original 7" vinyl copy of the single, which has the original song as its B side. The song is an upnbeat Northen Soul song with loads of strings as a backing, and the producers have simply stripped the vocal off it, and added that hypnotic electronic beat. Genius!
It also contains my favourite mis-heard lyric - why not sing "Sometimes I feel like throwing my pants up in the air" for hours of harmless entertainment!
