I remember a song (I think it got to number two in the charts) that was released in about 1981 or 82 called "Tunnel of Love" but I can't remember who sang it (it's not the one by Dire Straits) it ended with "you gave up your friends for a new way of life, and both ended up as ex husband and wife, there were 32 catches when you struck the matches, and blew away your life! In the the tunnel of love", I think the chorus went (and I think it ended with the chorus also) "you thought of yourselves, as really good friends, but you know how it's bound to end in the tunnel of love". No I'm not getting divorced etc! It's just bugging me!
Big fan, hence part of my username.
Reached No.10 in early spring 1983. From the album "Waiting", produced by David Byrnes of Talking Heads, and well worth getting hold of.
