i am going to buy a 2nd hand piano but i need to know what over strung means.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Andy is right in that it's to do with the construction of the stringing and damping mechanisms and has little (minor action changes) effect on the playing.....overstrung pianos are better, usually dearer.......If buying from a dealer expect to pay somewhere between �300 - �500 for a good servicable piano (normally german if old..oriental is newer) and up to �1000 for a better action and tone model.....as always in life you gets what you pays for.
