ok so its been a long time but ive finally tracked it down
its name is Sek�c� jdou (bab don't go) sang by Eva Pilarov�
ps the way i managed to get it was i put it on my ipod and selected get track info at some point in the past few weeks and lo and behold here it is

Yes, it is the Czech singer Eva Pilarova and her song "Sekaci jdou" - it is clear.
The composer is Harlan Howard
But the question is: WHO RECORDED THIS SONG ORIGINALLY IN ENGLISH !
