I think the smart money has to be on Bryan Ferry - it's hard to imagine there being much call for a 'session whistler', and I don't know if studio technology would stretch to sampling a sound as lifelike as that - and anyway, it is only whistling, I could have done it! Then again ...

on the other hand John lennon did the whistling on his original, and could easily have been edited in.

Ferry did quite a bit of whistling with Roxy Music. Check out 'Song for Europe' on the 'Stranded' album.


I reckon he did it on Jealous Guy too.
